Our First Company

We just dropped my mom off at the Liberia airport this morning after a nice weeklong visit. She came to stay with Wilder and I while Chris was in Texas on business and we had a great time. Wilder couldn’t get enough of Jamma Diana’s attention and they spent mucho tiempo playing Go Fish (Ve a Pescar), making art projects with scissors and glue, and screaming in tandem at the various critters that are a constant surprise around our house (lizards, frogs, spiders). The only thing that was missing was Grandpa Larry, who was on his annual ski trip in Mammoth, and Papi (which is what Wilder has taken to calling Chris). He misses all of his family and friends, as we all do, and talks about them all the time. He pretends to talk to Grandma Sheila and Grandpa Gary on the phone almost every day (which is nice since he won’t talk to anyone on the phone “live”), and he tells stories about all of his buddies back home all the time. (In addition to his remebrances, Wilder has also taken to spinning yarns. He told us a story the other day about his birthday party on Mars when he turned eight. Future or past life? Quien sabe!) He asks to see pictures of his friends on the computer often and he’s looking forward to seeing everyone on our visit to California in March. As are we!
