Tonight we got to treat Nago and his family to a fine dinner, the main course of which was a 9lb guapote that his son Daniel caught with a handline at a little lake on his finca on an afternoon fishing excursion with Chris. The only other catches of the day were a dozen or so pescados pequenos, one of which was used for bait on Daniel's simple line. Says Chris, “I have lots to leran about the local tricks of the trade when it comes to fishing.” They gifted us with the fish and we served it up for the entire family. It was a pleasure to be able to return their welcome, and Chris’ macadamia-nut crusted entrée was, of course, delicious. Que rico, as they say!
