A Year in a Day

On Dec. 17, we will hit the one-year mark in Costa Rica. İNo lo creo! All the clichés and metaphors about time have once again proven true. Where does it go? Did it actually come from anywhere? Days turn into nights turn into days turn into weeks turn into months turn into years, and yet, as my friend Sue quotes Janis Joplin, “It’s all the same f$%#ing day, man!”… The sun, the moon and the stars weave in and out of each other in distinct rhythms and wrinkles as we enjoy and struggle with the matters of being all life long, and then one “day” we find ourselves standing in a particular spot, looking at a particular landscape, breathing particular air….. We can only hope it’s where we intended to be.
