Did you know that a “vega” means “fertile valley or plain?” Now I don’t know about you, but when I think of Las Vegas, those aren’t necessarily the words I’d use to describe it. A few others come to mind...but those words happened in Vegas and will stay in Vegas. Vegas is more of a fertile fantasy land, let’s say.
Costa Rica, on the other hand, does indeed fit the description of “fertile valley or plain.” Which will bring a whole new meaning to “Leaving Las Vegas.” . . . Ok, wait, you say. What? Who’s leaving? Where? When? Why? How? . . .Well, that would be us leaving Costa Rica. Yes, the buzz is true. Come April 15, a couple of weeks after a little party we like to call Lavapalooza (see link on the right), we are leaving las vegas of Costa Rica to return to las vegas of Sonoma County. From redwoods to rainforest to redwoods again. Por dicha y que lastima tambien!
The reasons for this move back to California are many and varied – both personal and professional. The decision did not come easily, though it may have come more easily than you might think. Ultimately, it’s just time. It is bittersweet and we are still processing it. Which is why I don’t really have any profundity for you right now. More reflection on this later.

Calvin will have to be kidnapped and drugged. He'll never know what hit him, but when he come to in his previous kingdom with new subject, I don't think he'll complain. ;)
We're keeping the house, so there will still be opportunity for you to escape Ireland at some point for a bit of the tropics. We'll meet you here - or maybe there someday. . .?!
