The Weather Is Nice, Wish You Were Here

Summer has finally arrived in our part of Costa Rica. Gracias a dios! Including our recent visit to California and Arizona (brrrr and brr), I feel like we've just crawled out of a damp, dark cave after a long hibernation. The sun is shining, the breeze is soft, the birds and butterflies are dancing on the wind -- we're thawing out and it feels great! Yesterday we cruised around Lake Arenal on a pontoon boat with some friends, casting a few lines along the way (hooking nothing more than a weed bass or two) and stopping in a nice, calm cove so that a few from the boat, including Wilder and Chris, could take a dip in what our captain Glen later confirmed are sparsely but surely crocodile-populated waters; and today, Chris planted seeds, Wilder dug around in the garden for dinosaur fossils, we went on a scavenger hunt for rocks, flowers and worms, got out the portable pool for a bit of splashing around, and enjoyed a beautifully bright sunset from the front yard. Beauteous!
