Like Living a Fairy-Tale

Except for the intermittent whirring grunt of a weed whacker, the occasional rumble of a passing tractor, and the despondent bark of the neighbor’s dog . . . this morning was like an idyllic scene out of a Disney movie, nature in parody of itself: the sun shining almost too brightly, the trees swaying in the gentle breeze creating softly dappled shade, birds chirping, butterflies and bees flitting and buzzing from flower to flower, while some blissfully happy but doomed princess skips along down the forest trail with her basket full of berries, birds alighting on her outstretched finger or lifting the train of her dress out of the mud, tippy-toeing down the lane with butterflies forming a halo around her head, while she sings merrily an angelic tune in her predictably saccharine falsetto, alerting all of nature to her perfect happiness and tranquility and unworrying oneness with animal kind. All, of course, before the wicked witch or evil step-mother imprisons or poisons her. It's a lovely image while it lasts though, don't you think?!
